  1. How do you match students with tutors?
We take a very personal approach to matching tutors with students. When a family calls us, we retrieve as much information as we can from them, including their child's learning style and the type of tutor they would work well with. We use this information, in addition to tutors' subject expertise and availability, to find the best possible match. Our goal is to match a tutor with a student for the entire school year, and we have a 95% matching success rate.
  2. How are tutors’ schedules put together?
Once you let us know your available days and times to tutor, we look for requests that would fit within your availability. Once a request comes in that seems like it would work for you, we call to confirm your availability and schedule a first session between you and the student. After this initial meeting, you are free to coordinate your schedule directly with the family.
  3. How many hours can I expect to work?
Most tutors work approximately 12-15 hours per week. Tutors with more flexible schedules who are willing to travel to the geographical areas we most frequently serve typically work more hours. We have a 5 hour minimum that all tutors must provide per week. There is typically an initial "build-up" period where we work to get you a schedule where tutoring sessions are stacked and time efficient.
  4. What is tutor Corps’ pay range?
Our pay range is $30-$50 per hour. Salaries are dependent on a candidate's level of education, whether you possess a teaching credential, and how many years teaching of experience you have.
