Standardized Test Preparation
It is an exciting time as your child prepares to enter high school or college. Along with anticipation may come anxiety about taking standardized tests. Our tutors have extensive experience helping students build their confidence by preparing them for all high school and college standardized tests, including SSAT, ISEE, SAT, SAT II, and ACT. Depending on the student’s needs, we develop a plan that focuses on specific content areas and test-taking strategies to help improve performance and minimize test anxiety.
Through one-on-one or small-group tutoring, our tutors can:
- Expand your child’s repertoire of confidence-building mental math skills and test-specific reasoning strategies to combat math trickiness;
- Develop vocabulary strategies by using knowledge of root words, foreign languages and common associations to help decipher unfamiliar words;
- Sharpen grammar by identifying, clearly explaining and practicing the most commonly tested writing rules; and
- Improve reading comprehension by helping to organize the key points and anticipate questions.
Standardized test performance is a key factor in many high school and college admissions criteria. With our help, many students have raised their standardized test scores dramatically.
